Jon Gorman » Guitar and Vocals
At age 18, Jon picked up the guitar later than most players after listening to Eric Clapton, his first great guitar hero. From Clapton, Jon discovered his love for the blues and like Clapton, the road lead back to others. Developing an interest in B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan around that time, Jon was exposed to influences such as Albert King, Freddy King, Hubert Sumlin, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, Magic Sam, T-Bone Walker, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Albert Collins, Hollywood Fats, Junior Watson, Duke Robillard and Ronnie Earl. The last of these was also a teacher of Jon’s during Ronnie's time as a visiting artist at Berklee in the late 90s.
While at Berklee in the mid-late 90s, Jon played with bands across the musical spectrum from blues, rock, pop, jazz, jazz fusion, latin, R&B and funk, further flavoring his blues with influences like Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, John Scofield, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. During this time and afterwards, Jon gigged with various local blues and rock bands, and subbed on guitar for a time with a local Reggae band - Danny Tucker and the Vibe Tribe. In 2004, Jon formed his own blues band, Blue Train, to work the local blues club network in New England. Over the next 10 years Blue Train worked with local area singers such as Fran Calo, J Place (the harmonica ace), and local area singer Paul McQuaid. Apart from regular drummer John Hoik (2120 S Michigan Ave, Skip Philbrick, Kid Pinky) Blue Train also worked regularly with drummers such as Chris Rivelli (Roomful of Blues, Kim Wilson, Janiva Magness), Danny Banks (John Nemeth), John Ross (Kim Wilson, The Fabulous Thunderbirds) and Mike Avery (Racky Thomas, BJ Magoon, Chuck Berry).
Jon also spent time playing for blues artist in the New England area such as Shirley Lewis (2001 Blues Trust Lifetime Achievement Award winner and the "regal queen of the blues"), Racky Thomas and "Blind" Billy Mitchell. Jon also got to play a set once in Quincy, MA with Dick Dale's touring band. The reverb on his deluxe amps has never been the same since!

He has shared the stage with notables such as, Texas guitarist and Producer, Anson Funderburgh - Former Fabulous Thunderbirds front man, harp player and Producer, Kim Wilson - . Blues Artists, Trudy - Sugar Ray - Blues Brother Guitarist, Former Guitar player for Tina Turner, Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker and is currently the lead Guitarist for Brain Howe of Bad Company, Paul Warren - Song Writer and Producer, Steve Cropper - Singer extraordinaire and emerging artist, backup singer for Bob Seger and Little Feet, Shawn Murphy - Guitar master for The Stan Lasiter Group, Stan Lasiter - Former Allman Brothers Guitar Player, Jack Pearson - The Andy T - Nick Nixon Band - The Watson Brothers Band - Miss Zeke's Juke Joint Band and others.
